Trade Mission to Uzbekistan March 2018

VetEffecT participated in an agricultural trade mission to Uzbekistan in March 2018 with the Dutch Embassy to explore opportunities for sustainable animal production.

Uzbekistan dairy and poultry sectors should be supported to better adhere to international standards of animal health and welfare and food safety. Question is if the country is best helped by further expansion of large agroholdings only, or that also (family-) farming in rural areas need to be modernised to improve local employment and preserve environmental challenges such as water and biodiversity to meet the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
